Large vintage metal mesh storage basket with original shabby paint

This is an unusual vintage metal mesh basket, with much worn duck egg blue paintwork. I’m not sure of its original use, but I’m seeing it full of fruit and veg, or terracotta pots full of spring bulbs and moss. It’s a good size, measuring approx 17 3/4″ by 13 3/4″, by approx. 7 1/4″ tall, and is in good condition, with just general age related wear and rusting.
